Penny
Penny is the viola player in the Quartet. She too was taught by mum. At first a violinist, she took up the viola to enable the Quartet to work.
Penny also led several Youth Orchestras, featuring as soloist in Rimski Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagnole and Saint Saens’ Danse Macarbre before going on to Graduate from Liverpool University with a BA in Music. She then did a postgraduate course at the Royal Northern College of Music, gaining her PGCE and an RNCM Certificate in String Teaching. She is currently Head of Music in a Lancashire High School and with sister Emily Beth a co-founder of the duo Ponticello (click on link below for more) .
