The Rose was growing in our garden in late November at a time when Pam was still painting in oils. She brought it in and put it in a Rosentaal vase. After finishing a painting she still had paint left so she produced this painting on hardboard. Penny, our violist, loved it so much that years later she asked for it on her wedding stationery. Come lockdown, Pam produced the mixed media version on the right for Penny, using some material left over from costumes Ponticello had had made for a Christmas appearance.
